Yesterday (Thursday) a cloud burst caused massive havoc in Somerset West. Yesterday morning the skies were fairly clear but by afternoon it had started to rain. A few hours later and reports of cars washing down the road at Radloff park area and the Somerset West main road also got flooded quite badly.
Damage to houses were also reported because of “rivers” running down the street and into some people’s houses.

Welcome to the Helderberg website. This was first my old photoblog long long ago, i loved it but then one day accidentally deleted the entire site. Now 7 years later i’m restarting the site as a news/ events / blog and photos site for the Helderberg area.
I’ll include Stellenbosch as part of the Helderberg which normally only goes with Somerset West, Strand and Gordons bay. Some include Maccassar.
